Cord Byrd was admitted to the Florida Bar in 1998.  Prior to attending law school Cord served in the United States Air Force and taught  school in Miami, Florida.  During his first six years in practice Cord represented insurance companies and employers, including some of the largest employers in the state and nation,  in the area of workers’ compensation.  During this time Cord gained litigation experience and developed a workers’ compensation appellate practice.  Cord’s success at the appellate level includes several written opinions from the Florida First District Court of Appeal. He was also certified by the Florida Department of Insurance to  provide legal seminars to insurance adjusters and employers in the area of workers’ compensation law.

In 2004 Cord joined a firm  that specialized in the representation of injured workers. Using the knowledge and insight gained defending insurance companies and employers Cord has helped injured workers obtain the benefits to which they are legally entitled. Cord’s practice expanded to include the representation of those workers who are wrongfully terminated due to their workplace injuries.  Through his work and legal experience Cord has been able to counsel and advise individuals and families through trying and difficult circumstances which often follow a workplace accident.

In 2007 the Law Office of Cord Byrd, P.A. was founded with the goal of providing individual and personal counsel and legal advice to his clients.  Cord is aware of and focuses on the specific legal needs of his clients with the experience and ability to handle the cases efficiently and effectively.
